Among the ten chapters of Bustan, the first chapter “On Justice, council and administration of government” was selected for the analysis of the governmental discourse because many stories and anecdotes mentioned in this chapter are about the administration of government and social relationships while in the other eight chapters just a few number of stories address government and relations between the essential elements of the society. The data gathered (stories in the first chapter of Bustan) is analyzed based on a critical discourse analysis approach. Among the critical discourse analysis theories, the methodology introduced by Norman Fairclough is chosen according to which the analysis of the three dimensions of text, discourse and society is based on Halliday’s Systemic Functional Grammar. The results of this research can be summarized as follows: Although Saadi’s Bustan is considered a book written to support the government of that time, and it’s not an anti-government text, Saadi’s point of view towards the government which is accompanied by the emphasis on the welfare of the poor, and the development of the country is very interesting. This can be perceived by considering both the discourse analysis data and the social conditions of that era. دیدگاهی که سعدی برای برقراری جامعه‌ای مطلوب به‏ويژه از سوي حکومت و اعضای نظام حاکم عرضه مي‏کند، در کتاب‏های «گلستان» و «بوستان» در مرکز توجه قرار گرفته‌اند؛ به صورتی ‌ که سعدی باب اول این دو کتاب را به همین موضوع اختصاص داده است. از میان ابواب ده‌گانۀ بوستان، باب اول با عنوان «در عدل و تدبیر و رأی» برای بررسی و تحلیل گفتمان با تکیه بر حکومت اداری برگزیده شده است؛ زیرا بیشتر حکایت‌ها و مواعظ این باب دربارۀ شیوۀ حکومت‌‌داری و روابط اجتماعی است و در هشت باب دیگر، حکایت‌های انگشت‌شماری دربارۀ حکومت و ارتباط ارکان جامعه با هم مشاهده می‌شود. داده‌ها و اطلاعات این پژوهش (حکایت‌های باب اول بوستان) بر اساس رویکرد تحلیل انتقادی گفتمان بررسی شده است. از میان نظریه‌های موجود در تحلیل انتقادی گفتمان، مبانی روش‌شناسی «نورمن فرکلاف» - که تحلیل خود را بر پایه دستور نقش‏گرای هالیدی در سه بعد متن، گفتمان و جامعه، انجام می‌دهد - انتخاب شده است. نتایج برآمده از پژوهش را می‌توان در اين گزاره خلاصه کرد: هر چند بوستان سعدی متنی در جهت حفظ ساختار حکومت زمانۀ خود و نه در برابر آن است، نگاه سعدی به حكومت با تأكيد بر رفاه رعیت و آبادی کشور قابل‌توجه است. اين دريافت را مي‏توان از كنارهم‏گذاري داده‏هاي تحليل گفتمان و شرايط اجتماعي دورۀ سعدي به دست آورد. http://literature.ihss.ac.ir/fa/Article/Download/10294
