The Master Moeen, collected this dictionary in response to part of students’ needs (requests). He have employed scientific method in three parts: words, foreign compositions, and persons. The author noted to the names of orientalists and experts who cooperate in compilation of this book, in the first volume introduction. Given importance and republish of this book and extensive and frequently refering, the author points to some cases from “foreign composition’ for revision and edition in subsequent publishing. Noting to Moeen’s method in writing Persian dictionary, the author enumerates the leading of his lexicography. Foreign Composition in Persian dictionary includes Arabic, Turkish, and European words prevailed in Persian speaking and writing. Such compositions, often maintained their main features, since, such composition being limited grammatically to two groups: compositional and verbal the compilor don’t address grammatical features of foreign compositions and in this essay you never find it. Antecedent of critics of moeen’s dictionary returns to a few years after its publishing. For instance, we can point to Dr. Ali Ashraf Sadeghi’s article in journal of literature department of Tehran university. Set aside causes and reasons and type of errors and defects, this article with distinctive perspective tries to revise the moeen’s dictionary. فرهنگ فارسي معين، بين سال‌هاي 1342 تا 1352 در شش جلد منتشر و تاكنون بارها تجديد چاپ شده است. استاد معين، اين فرهنگ را به منظور پاسخگويي به بخشي از نيازهاي دانش‌پژوهان گرد آورده؛ از روش علمي در سه بخش لغات، تركيبات خارجي و اعلام استفاده كرده است. مولف همچنين از استادان و خاورشناساني كه در تأليف كتاب با او همكاري كرده‌اند؛ درمقدمه‌ جلد نخست نام برده است. نگارنده با توجه به اهميت و تجديد چاپ اين كتاب و مراجعه‌ گسترده و مكرر اهل نظر، مواردي از «بخش تركيبات خارجي» را به منظور ويرايش و بازنگري در چاپ‌هاي بعدي يادآوري مي‌كند و پس از اشاره به روش استاد معين در نگارش فرهنگ فارسي، از پيشوايان فرهنگ‌نويسي او، سخن مي‌گويد. تركيبات خارجي فرهنگ فارسي، شامل واژه‌هايي از زبان‌هاي عربي، تركي و اروپايي مندرج در نوشتار و گفتار زبان فارسي است. اين گونه تركيبات، اغلب ويژگي‌هاي اصلي خود را حفظ كرده‌اند. محدود بودن اين گونه تركيبات از نظر هويت دستوري به دو گروه تركيبي و فعلي، موجب شده است مولّف كتاب، به ويژگي‌هاي دستوري تركيبات خارجي نپردازد و در اين مقاله نيز از آن سخني به ميان نيايد. پيشينه‌ نقد وبررسي فرهنگ معين به چندسال پس از انتشار آن مي‌رسد كه به عنوان نمونه مي‌توان مقاله‌ دكتر علي اشرف صادقي در مجله دانشكده ادبيات دانشگاه تهران را برشمرد. مقاله‌ حاضر، صرف نظر از علل و عوامل و نوع اشتباهات و كاستي‌ها با نگارشي متفاوت از گفتارها و مقالات ديگر، به بازنگري در فرهنگ معين مي‌پردازد. با اين اميد كه گامي در ويرايش اين كتاب مرجع، برداشته باشد. http://literature.ihss.ac.ir/fa/Article/Download/10164
