Does Poetry have a moral and educational content, or it is purely of aesthetic function? Can political and social issues be included in poetry, or it is essentially a matter of inspiration? The purpose of the present paper is to capture the most reasonable and modern understanding of poetry. To do so, various theories known as Poetics have been reviewed. Today, poetics and criticism of poetry is mostly understood in terms of cultural affairs and poetic inspiration. The Nature of poetry as inclusive of all the functions is the very cultural infusion or an important part of culture that seems pervasive. The research was done by reviewing old and new views on poetics, their comparison and contrast, and finally preferring one to the others. بیان مسئله این است که در دوران معاصر تلقی‌های گوناگون از شعر چیست؟ آیا شعر دارای محتوای اخلاقی و تربیتی است، یا صرفاً جنبة آفرینش زیبایی دارد. مسائل سیاسی و اجتماعی در شعر درج می‌شود یا اینکه اساساً شعر بخشی از فرهنگ و الهام است. هدف مقاله این است که به كامل‌ترین و امروزی‌ترین تلقی از شعر دست یابد و در این روند دریافت‌ها و تئوری‌های گوناگونی که به‌عنوان فن شعر بیان شده است، بررسی شود. در حال حاضر مهمترین تلقی شعر و تنظیم فن شعر و یا نقد شعر بر پایه مظاهر فرهنگ و الهامات شاعرانه صورت می‌پذیرد. ماهیت شعر به گونه‌ای که همه اهداف را در بر داشته باشد، همان القاي فرهنگی یا بخش مهمی از فرهنگ است که فراگیر می‌نماید. چگونگی پژوهش مراجعه به آراي گوناگون و تئوری‌های قدیم و جدید است که از طریق شناخت، مقایسه و ترجیح مهمترین تئوری بیان می‌گردد. http://literature.ihss.ac.ir/fa/Article/Download/10021
