In synesthesia, there is a kind of meaning transfer between words of different modalities. The present study aims at exploring mechanisms involved in transferring predicates from one sense modality to another. And also we explore factors involved in interpreting cross-modal expressions in Sa’adi’s Boostan using tenets of cognitive semantics such as embodied meaning, cultural factors and evaluative content of sensory terms along with the role human's mental architecture in deriving different literal and non-literal meanings from these expressions. The data include cross-modal expressions collected from Sa’adi’s Boostan and analysis is carried out in a descriptive method. Results show that our understanding of meaning transfer between sensory modalities is syncretic rather than metaphorical. Therefore, predicate transfer in cross-modal expressions in Sa’adi’s Boostan is done through mechanisms such as experiential correlations between different concepts, conceptual metonymy and evaluative valence of sense words. Furthermore, there are psychologically primitive concepts for sense words in Sa’adi’s Boostan that span all domains of sensory experience and are activated in presence of certain stimuli to trigger derivation of various literal meanings. Finally, Iranian Culture and lifestyle in Saadi's period play their role as a filter for preventing elements that are not in accordance with Persian culture from appearing in linguistic realization. حسامیزی یا آمیختگی حسی در زبان به صورت عبارت‌های میان‌وجهی تجلی می‌یابد و در آن، بینِ واژه‌های مربوط به وجوه حسی مختلف، انتقال معنا صورت می‌گیرد. تحقیق حاضر با هدف بررسی سازوکارهای دخیل در تفسیر عبارات میان‌وجهی در بوستان سعدی و با بهره‌گیری از رویکرد معناشناسی شناختی انجام می‌شود. در این پژوهش، نقشِ بدنمندی معنا، مؤلفه‌های فرهنگی و محتوای ارزشی واژه‌های حسی و همچنین جایگاه معماری ذهن انسان در انتقال گزاره از یک وجه حسی به وجه حسی دیگر و همچنین برداشت معانی تحت‌اللفظی و غیر تحت‌اللفظی از عبارات میان‌وجهی بررسی می¬شود. داده‌های این تحقیق از طریق مطالعة بوستان سعدی و استخراج عبارات حسی جمع‌آوری می‌شود و به شیوه‌ای توصیفی تجزیه و تحلیل می¬شود. نتایج حاصل از تحلیل داده‌ها نشان می‌دهد که درک ما از انتقال معنا بین حوزه‌های حسی نه از طریق استعارة صرف، بلکه به شیوه‌ای تلفیقی صورت می‌گیرد. بر این اساس، انتقال معنا در ساختارهای میان‌وجهی در بوستان سعدی ممکن است بر پایة همبستگی تجربی میان مفاهیم متفاوت، رابطة مجاز مفهومی بین دو پدیده یا بر پایة محتوای ارزشی واژه‌های حسّی صورت گیرد. بعلاوه گویشوران زبان فارسی به کمک مفاهیم روان‌شناختی اولیه‌ای که همه حوزه‌های تجربه حسی را در برگرفته و در حضور محرک‌های مشخص فعال می‌شود، معانی تحت‌اللفظی متعددی از واژه‌های حسی در بوستان سعدی برداشت می‌کنند. ضمن اینکه مؤلفه‌های فرهنگی زبان فارسی در پالایش مفاهیم و جلوگیری از بروز و ظهور عناصر ناسازگار در زبان نقش دارند http://literature.ihss.ac.ir/ar/Article/Download/43105
